StoryFAQ

Amazon’s well-known Working Backwards process is based on creation of a PRFAQ – a (PR) Press Release + (FAQ) Frequently Asked Questions document.
This document is the foundation of all new project and product proposals at Amazon. However, as a Press Release from the Future, it is a fundamentally corporate-centric document.
A StoryFAQ has the same purpose, but is told from the persepective of the End User. A short story (plus pictures) with the same goal: to communicate what a product or service will do.
The end result is to create consensus and provide a guiding point for all participants. But a StoryFAQ starts with the benefits to the end-user.
I created the construct, and tested it across a range of engineering teams inside Panasonic. There were training sessions and workshops. Everyone from Engineering, to Product Management, to upper management gave positive reviews to the process, as a more accessible version of Working Backwards.
